Title: Unraveling the enigmas of language and the brain through linguistics and neuroscience
Abstract: “What makes us who we are?” This is a vital research theme for humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Our laboratory aims to answer this question by elucidating how the human brain creates language, a human-unique capacity. To comprehend the relationship between language and the brain, we have conducted studies that validate hypotheses based on theoretical linguistics through experimental neuroscience. In this seminar, we will present our research findings, which progressively unveil the neural mechanisms that support language. We will focus on our investigations into language disorders, endangered languages, and foreign language learning.
The webinar is free, available in English and Japanese, and open to everyone! We hope you all come and join us!
