About the Ohta Lab

About the Ohta Lab

The Ohta Lab, Faculty of Humanities, Kyushu University, attempts to elucidate the neural mechanisms underlying language by demonstrating linguistic hypotheses with neuroscience experiments.
We have various experimental devices such as electroencephalography (EEG), transcranial electrical stimulators (tES), and an eye tracker. In addition, magnetoencephalography is also available at Kyushu University Hospital, and MRI at Fukuoka Sanno Hospital, where we are conducting joint research.

Lab Meetings

We have a progress report meeting and journal club every two weeks. In addition, we support students by providing weekly individual meetings to determine research themes and practice sessions for conference presentations.
We often invite researchers from outside the university to learn up-to-date research in linguistics and neuroscience.
